Over the past couple of weeks, we have been discussing the importance of properly questioning yourself and your company when dealing with cloud services.

The cloud is an amazing tool.

It allows you to almost instantaneously access your data from anywhere in the world in one of the most secure ways possible.

It allows whole companies to store and share data among employees and C level executives with ease and it allows you to more easily secure your data.

However, the cloud is not without its issues.

You need to ask yourself and your company a few questions about your cloud practices and services to ensure that your data is as secure as possible.

1. How Will the Company Handle High Risk Applications and Storage Services

Whenever you use the cloud based applications or storage, you are putting yourself and your company in inherent danger.

You are trusting the providers to be responsible and honest with securing some of your most private and important data.

Choosing the wrong company could literally spell the end of your business as you know it.

So how will you handle this?

What key traits will you look for with cloud-based applications and storage?

2. Are Employees Allowed to Use Their Own Devices?

For company work, can your employees use their own devices to access business data?

This is an important question and a issue that need to be addressed and decided upon immediately.

There are downsides no matter what, but you need to do the research and make sure you understand the pros and cons before you allow people to use personal equipment for company work.
